For hundreds of years, the mystical realm of faeries has captured the imagination of artists and writers. This enchanting calendar is an invitation to spend a year in that magical kingdom, combining twelve beautiful interpretations of faeryland by contemporary artists with captivating words from classic and modern poets.
Linda Ravenscroft draws inspiration for her art from her love of nature and her fascination with myths and legends: In my view, the Fay represents the natural world we live in and they have a place in our modern society, more now than they ever did.
Suzanne Gyseman finds inspiration in the life forms of the natural world, the faery and angelic realms, myth, folklore, fairytales, and dreams. She approaches her work with a vision of interrelatedness of life, extending this beyond the physical dimension.
Stephanie Pui Mun-Law is inspired by mythology, legend, and folklore. She has also been greatly influenced by the art of the Impressionists and the Surrealists. Stephanie conveys with her art not simply fantasy, but the fantastic, the sense of wonder, and that which is sacred.
Josephine Wall has had a passion for light and color, fantasy and visual storytelling since she was a child. She is influenced by the illustrative talents of Arthur Rackham, the romanticism of the Pre-Raphaelites, and the surrealism of Magritte and Dali.
