Longing for Spring - Tracy R.Cardinet©2014 CAL USA
Take the dew drops from her eyes
As the dawn, so soft, embraces
In her bed, such sweet surprise
Encircled by white, queenly laces
.
Gently, gently she awakes
Stretching velvet toward the sun
Smallest shadows, these she makes
Investing in the morning fun
.
Tulips, tulips kiss the day
From their vantage, by the hedge
Near to them, not far away
Daffodils and iris pledge
.
Colorful abandon yields
Nectar for the senses, all
Perfumed grandeur from the fields
To the mortared, garden wall
.
How enchanting spring will be
When the first rose, and her friends
Cast off the hold of winter’s glee
In kaleidoscopic magic, blends
.
