Clad in holly berry red
From Yuletide stocking he emerged
Swooped and glided ‘cross the room
Atop a fragrant wreath he perched

Let me fulfill your wish, sang he
Be it fortune, fame, or mirth
And to the Christmas elf said I
Please sprinkle peace upon our Earth
