FAIRIES WORLD ARTISTS MEET AT FAIRIE FESTIVAL

Nicole Pisaniello, Marcel LorAnge, Renee Biertempfel & Linda Varos met up at the Western Pennsylvania Fairie Festival. None of the group had met previously though both Biertempfel and Varos hail from Pennsylvania, Pisaniello came from Virginia and LorAnge from Quebec, Canada. While Nicole, LorAnge and Renee sold their prints and signed autographs for the public Linda worked behind the scenes coordinating this first annual event.

Varos said, “It was a joy to finally meet other Fairies World Artists in person. We have such a common bond. Some of us have emailed each other for a long time but not yet met. To finally come together was like meeting up with old friends. We hope to do this again at next year’s festival, and in fact expand the circle of those attending artists into a sort of annual Fairies World Books artists reunion”. 

The 2007 Western Pennsylvania Fairie Festival is scheduled for June 9th & 10th,at Coopers Lake, Slippery Rock, Pa.

Myrea Pettit and Linda Ravenscroft meet up in Stratford upon Avon at the famous Ann Hathaway’s Cottage, the wife of William Shakespeare. What better place to be inspired to discuss Linda’s new Oracle and Tarot cards that will be published later in 2006  (www.lindaravenscroft.com)

Myrea Pettit and David Riché fly to Sweden to launch their two latest books 500 Fairy Motifs and The World of Faery. It was Ann Mari Sjogren, now 88 years old that was the greatest influence on Myreas artistic skills and career, her first book being published in 1945 it was a privilege to include her work in these new publications, to add to the excitement Wenche Skondal another artist living in Gothenberg whose work is also featured in these new books came and joined the launch party. 

Myrea Pettit and David Riché recently visited Sweden to meet the renowned fairy artist and painter Ann Mari Sjögren.The visit was filmed and featured on Swedish television and in the national press.

Ann Mari is a lady of 85, full of warmth and humour, crystal clear in mind and with lots of stories to tell. (more…)
