The Wedding Dress and Mediaeval Costumes
Myrea chose ivory and emerald green as the two key colors, they would blend perfectly into the predominant colors of the exotic Botanic gardens. Her bouquet was of ivory roses, green leaves with four handmade feathered butterflies.
Her beautiful full length steam crushed silk velvet ivory dress with ivory and gold bodice panel designed and fitted to her svelte figure in an enchanting Mediaeval style, sleeves are detailed with insets and the edges finished with an ornate Guipure braid and satin piping. The dress is fully lined in ivory satin and laces up at the back seductively to the waist.
Her two older daughters as bridesmaids wore exquisite Mediaeval style dress coats of pure silk Dupion with brocade panels matching Myrea's dress and sleeves trimmed with the beautiful Guipure braid piped in ivory satin. The front bodice fastening through a loop braid with tiny pearl buttons all hand stitched. The coats are fully lined in satin and worn over a double layer bias cut skirt.
Myreas sister Michell as Matron of Honour wore a fairytale dress of chiffon silk and soft velvet, the front bodice fully boned with a sweetheart neckline trimmed with a delicate braid. Side panels feature decorative ribbon laces to adjust to make a perfect fit. Sleeves stop at the elbow and finish with a fluted chiffon cuff that drops to the knee set off the bride's party.
Myrea's niece and David's granddaughter were the enchanting little bridesmaids who wore matching Mediaeval silk dresses set with an ivory and gold brocade front panel laced at the back with delicate ivory and emerald green ribbon ankle length falling from the waist with a fullness of silk net and ivory satin, all set off with handcrafted delicate wings from Tammy Henderson of Enchanted Costumes and off white sandals more comfortable in the heat and safe to run around in the Botanic Garden.
How exciting to have David her new husband, and his best man, wearing matching Mediaeval ivory and black silk flouncing shirts with cravat and matching emerald green waistcoat and David with green and black cape, and black trousers.
