January
Fairy of the winter day
when you fly, fly away
Go you to some invisible realm
where icicles won’t melt
nor dreams foretell
secrets of the fairy
hidden in flight.
‘Fairy of the Winter Day’, S. K. Lindeman

February
Butterflies dancing in midnight, mist apple rain
Unveiled to each sparkling dew, lovers smile again…
Sprites merrily seeking shining heart
Her beauty so youthful, with azure lighted curls, soft shimmery worlds
She fills the halls of greatest of storytellers
Painted, etched in all eternal sight, each curled azure opaque light.
‘Almonds Light’, Deborah Shepard

August
Soon did she lift a lum’nous wing
As fairy tune danced on,
A gentle breeze enveloped her,
She shimmered, then was gone.
Bluer than the bonnets fair
That in the springtime bloom,
Bluer than the berries round,
Away the fairy’s gloom.
‘Broken Wing’, Dorothea Barth
