Faerie
Posted: Thursday, August 23rd, 2007
A major publication from Brian Froud his ‘World of Faerie’ and his image of faeries due to be published October 2007 scythes through popular fairy art and Disney type fairies. One mans dedicated vision, undoubtedly his greatest single work a thesis based on knowledge, artistic skill, eloquent and passionately written, illustrated with some never before seen images. It seeks maturity in the tide of current commercial perception of fairy, on this point alone Froud will continue to be revered. Having read an advance copy I can see exactly where he is coming from having had the privilege to share time with him and his wife in deepest Dartmoor, in this book he opens the door to his home, the truth of the mistletoe (see image), his studio, and his creative inspirations, his work may be seen as wild and incomprehensible especially to those influenced by lack of folklore knowledge and vision, yet energy bursts artistically from every page with detailed explanation. His timing to publish on the current wave of juvenile images and enthusiasm such a volume is a brave and welcome lesson for adolescent artists to reach maturity he will undoubtedly be regarded with awe and devotion. This book is a must have, an insight into faerie genius.

Its all in the trees Priscilla
Posted: Tuesday, April 17th, 2007
Priscilla Hernandez has with the music and lyrics of her CD ‘Ancient Shadows’ found a gem of magic in her song the Willows Lullaby which is achieving world wide recognition for her singing, songwriting and her lyrics , produced on a captivating video by the genius of director Hector Corcin.
Priscilla Hernandez: The Willow’s Lullaby – The best bloopers are hereOne cannot fail to be totally enraptured by her twilight world something we all share yet many fail to recognise are those deep thoughts just as we fall to sleep and also as we slowly wake from our dreams, to reality. Spare some thoughts for the willow and beware..
Beware …
Beware …
go to find a safer place to rest
When you hear the willow’s hiss
beware if you dare dream neath its leaves
beware, go to find a safer place
It mourns the forest that it once dwelt
It mourns the birds that had left their nests
and flew away …
When the willow sings half alive
it releases all the pain it hides inside
if you hear its song alone
You fall sleep and your soul is gone
This willow has bitter heart
This willow has bitter soul
so…
Beware…
