asked about the different spellings and meanings of Fairy.
We asked Terri Windling the renowned writer, folklorist,
and consulting editor for Tor Books in New York City. She
is best known for her editorial work in the field of fantasy
literature, where she has long been a passionate advocate
of mythic fiction. She has published over forty books, she

Terri Windling is a writer and editor in the field of fantasy
literature, where she has long been an advocate of Interstitial
Arts. She is also a visual artist, folklorist, and the director
of The Endicott Studio, an organization for creative artists
whose work is rooted in myth and folklore. She is the co-founder
(with Delia Sherman and Ellen Kushner) of Endicott West,
a Writers/Artists Retreat in Tucson, Arizona. She has been
a Consulting Editor for Tor Books in New York City since
1986.
