Tinkerbell - How did it all begin?
"When
the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke
into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about,
and that was the beginning of fairies."
from Peter Pan by J.M.Barrie
Tinkerbell was created by James M. Barrie,
the British playwright and author of Peter Pan.
Whilst
many versions exist of Tinkerbell none are perceived as important
as that created by Marc Davis (1913-2000) the famous animator
at Disney in 1953.
It was Margaret Kerry who won the audition to model for
Tinkerbell
She spent six months wearing a bathing suit and creating
a real Tinkerbell for the animator with her facial expressions,
body language and slender cute figure.
