Tooth Fairy by Jenedy Paige

March 22nd, 2007

Jenedy_Paige_tooth+fairy+esize.jpgGo take a look at the lovely Paintings of Jenedy Paige from California USA

She may be apologizing for the long time between her posting information on her blog but the wait is certainly worthwhile. Her beautiful Tooth Fairy image is a delight which we are pleased to feature here in our faerie worlds post . If only every artist expressed such strong words for goals of creative inspiration as Jenedy , “I love to paint! and I have such a strong desire to become good at, I want to be able to paint like Mucha and Sargent and Bloch. I want to be able to touch people with my artwork. I want to be able to communicate messages and share what light I have with the rest of the world. And, so I paint… Everyday, in hopes of that.

Jenedy you are on your way………………..

Scary Faerie Tales

March 22nd, 2007

Scary faerie tales were in the line-up for a library storytelling event Wednesday 21 March.

Professional storyteller Allan Davies was at WGC’s main library to entertain youngsters aged six to 11, and their parents.

Allan has been involved in storytelling and arts festivals around the country, as well as leading numerous educational workshops, for many years.

Children were also be able to write their own tales and illustrate them.

The event was part of a countywide programme to support the BBC’s reading and writing campaign.

County councillor Keith Emsall, executive member for community safety and culture, said: “Stories, even ones you might know already, can take on a life of their own with the help of a professional.

“Hopefully this session will inspire those attending to enjoy making up their own tales as well.”

Port Fairy Folk Festival

March 22nd, 2007

Robyn Arya reports that singer-songwriter Lior was one of the star performers at the annual Port Fairy Folk Festival which attracted a crowd of about 15,000 music lovers to the Victorian seaside town over the Labour Day holiday weekend.

He delighted fans at two concerts as he sang his hit songs including the popular Bedouin Song from his Autumn Flow album.

Backed by musicians on violin, guitar and drums, Lior demonstrated his beautifully powerful voice and melodic songs and received loud applause.

The sell-out festival featured more than 500 acts in folk, blues, country and world roots music.

For those who did not have a ticket, performances were also held on outdoor stages in the main street. Adding to the atmosphere were buskers and a craft market.

Among the top acts at the festival were Christine Anu, Eric Bibb (USA) Luka Bloom (Ireland), Banditalian (Italy), Habib Koite Bamada (Mali), Shane Howard and the legendary Joe Camilleri and The Black Sorrows.

Humorous Faerie Tale

March 22nd, 2007

Kristen Pritchard reports on Armstrong School’s presentation of a humorous faerie tale

From left to right are are: Swashbuck Valpariso (Ben Reckow), Worfle (Devin Wolle), King Dumb (Sam Carlson), Sir Prize (Shane Olson), Zob Proper Knight (Isaac Carreon), Zob Proper Knight (Seth Basmoen), and Sir Cumference (Adam Bruton). “The Clumsy Custard Horror Show” will be coming soon to St. James for public viewing, entertainment and laughter on Friday, March 30 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 31 at 3:00 p.m. at the Armstrong School Auditorium.

The play combines humor, double meanings, hidden identities, and surprises into a Medieval setting where one kingdom battles against another.

“The feel of the play is a humorous faerie tale,” director Nicole Meyer said. “It follows that faerie tale feel but it has more of a dumb humor.”

Meyer said the actors at Armstrong have fun performing in a play with dumb humor. Last year when the school put on a humorous rendition of Robin Hood, the students fed off the laughter from their teachers and other audience members.

This year when Meyer first went over “The Clumsy Custard Horror Show” script with the Armstrong students, the time was filled with giggles from the students.

“The humor is fun for the kids,” Meyer said. “I like doing a little spin off of something different.”

Not only do the Armstrong students enjoy performing a play with such humor, but Meyer also said they’re “just an incredibly talented bunch of kids.” She said she couldn’t be happier with the students she has acting in the play this year.

One of the big questions throughout the play audience members will probably be asking of the characters is “who’s side are you really on?”

Fairy Tender Loving Care

March 12th, 2007

aimee and emma 2.jpg

Dear Fairy Friends and Supporters

We are so glad that spring is at last chasing away the winter bugs and
that Aimee is recovered from all the bugs that took up residence last
month. She is making good progress with the immunosuppressant which
we hope will be stopped in a week or two. that will make such a
difference as we have travelled almost 2000 miles between Dundee and
Glasgowover the last few weeks as the doctors have kept a close eye
on all the bugs, the graft versus host disease and her blood counts.

Our greatest piece of news though is the arrival of Princess Emma – a
gorgeous little Yorkshire terrier pup who we have all become so very
much attached too. things have been going well and Emma has settled
in well – but – the poor mite suffered an accident a week ago when
Emma took a bad fall and broke both her front legs. ! She has had her
operation and is now at home where she is the focus of a 24/7 delivery
of TLC led my Aimee who has hardly left her side. Aimee is really the
only one who will let Emma feed her. The vet thinks that if all goes
well in the next few days Emma will be able to have her bandages off .

So we hope you like the photo of Aimee and Emma which was taken before
her accident when we visited the Scottish Yorkshire Terrier club – we
four are now five

David Beckham and a Fairy

March 9th, 2007

Galaxy for BeckhamDavid Beckham is soon to leave Real Madrid for a new soccer career in USA with LA Galaxy. Is the truth behind one of David Beckham’s most momentous and spectacular free kicks just emerging? It was during the England team training at La Manga in Spain in June 2002 that David met with famous fairy artist Myrea Pettit who may have blessed his good fortunes. There is no doubt that his last minute deciding fairytale penalty goal at the Old Trafford ground Manchester just a week later against Greece qualifying England into the World Cup was blessed. His inspired performance throughout that game, Beckham stood 25 yards from the Greece goal in the final minute knowing only a successful free-kick would see England through.

Was that his greatest moment in an England shirt or was it meeting fairy Myrea Pettit and her sister Michelle of Fairies World? Why would Myrea already have painted Galaxy of Stars in 2001? Fairies may well hold our fate in their hands.
